Despite uncertainty in Washington, work on the Gateway Tunnel moves forward. This $16 billion project is considered one of the most important rail infrastructure efforts in the nation. Work is underway at five construction sites that will ultimately deliver nine miles of new passenger rail connecting New Jersey and New York through a modern two-tube tunnel beneath the Hudson River.
