Water utilities across Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey are stepping up efforts to remove “forever chemicals,” known as PFAS, from drinking water. These man-made compounds do not easily break down and can build up in the environment and human body over time. Recent testing has found some of the nation’s highest PFAS levels right here in the tristate area, prompting urgent investments in new treatment systems and tighter monitoring.
