Plans for a redesigned Penn Station moved a step closer to reality earlier this month, as Amtrak, federal officials and Penn Transformation Partners unveiled detailed renderings of the proposed project. Former New York City Transit president and current Amtrak special adviser Andy Byford joined ‘Mornings On 1,’ along with the architect behind the design, Vishaan Chakrabarti, to discuss the proposal, the challenges ahead and what the transformation could mean for rail travel in New York City.”
