Work on the Gateway Tunnel continues even as federal funding uncertainty lingers. The $16B project will add nine miles of new passenger rail connecting NJ and NY through a two-tube tunnel beneath the Hudson River.

Recognizing that in 2023, 1,075 construction professionals died while working on the job, the Associated Construction Contractors of New Jersey (ACCNJ),  and their members participated in Safety Day 2025. The goal of safety day is to refocus the attention of those workers on the key elements of staying safe while on the job.
