Permit challenges rejected by appeals court as critical gas Pipeline Project moves forward

A federal appeals court has upheld New York’s water quality permits for the Northeast Supply Enhancement pipeline, rejecting a challenge from environmental organizations seeking to overturn the state’s approval. The ruling removes a significant legal hurdle for the major regional energy project, which will expand natural gas capacity through Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York.
