Municipal water systems face infrastructure cost dilemma [TapInto]

Add Manasquan to the list of municipal water & sewer authorities that are dealing with upgrading aging water & sewer systems. The borough council recently approved an ordinance to amend its water & sewer regulations to include new infrastructure and conservation fees.

The ordinance changes are to support infrastructure maintenance, long-term water conservation efforts, and ongoing system operations. The changes include setting base water & sewer rates annually, a new $30 per quarter infrastructure fee, and a conservation fee for users who exceed 100,000 gallons of water usage a year.

For additional details on the ordinance and added charges see the tapinto story. https://www.tapinto.net/towns/gold-coast/articles/manasquan-confronts-decades-of-deferred-underground-infrastructure-costs
